the 1980s or 1990s; of these, only the shed remains. A hog ranch was present on the
Site at some point during.this time. It appears that the Site has been used for orchard,
vineyard, and irrigated pasture.
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
V Existing Septic System
No septic systems are currently located-on the Site.
Proposed Septic System
A new septic system will be installed to serve the proposed residence on Parcel 2.
On-Site Septic Permit History
No permits for new septic systems on the Site were identified at the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department. One permit for demolition of a septic system
was .identified, .dated October 6, 2005; the..system had served the-former residence on
the Site. The permit is attached in Appendix 4.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To determine the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic
systems that exist approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo
imagery from GoogleEarth TM was used. Each -building cluster on the photo was
assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, we determined that there is a
minimum of 22 septic systems per square mile in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The general area consists of agricultural and rural residential properties.
Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
v
Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, the septic systems in the area
appear to utilize leach lines, leach lines-with sumps, and leach lines with seepage pits.
The septic permits can be found in Appendix 4 of this report.
LOGE1015 Page 2
E
