2.2 Proposed Development
A minor subdivision is proposed to split the Site into four new parcels and a designated
remainder. Mr. Quaresma plans to plant almonds on the four new parcels.
2.3 Topography
A recent U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map was obtained from the
San Joaquin County District Viewer. In the map, the Site is depicted as open
agricultural land with two structures near its center and ponds along its southern side.
The property is approximately 40 to 55 feet above mean sea level with a slight grade
down to the northeast. Surrounding properties are primarily shown to be open
agricultural land. The New Jerusalem Airport is depicted to the west, and the San
Joaquin River Club residential subdivision is depicted to the east. This map is included
as Plate 4 in Appendix 1.
3.0 HISTORICAL RESEARCH
3.1 Aerial Photographs
Live Oak reviewed aerial photographs of the Site provided by the San Joaquin County
Surveyor's Office in Stockton, California. The available photographs were dated 1937,
1952, 1963, 1975, and 1983. Two additional photographs, dated October 1998 and
March 2008, were obtained from the San Joaquin County District Viewer.
In the 1937 photo, the Site appears to be open pasture or dry-farmed land. Kasson
Road and Durham Ferry Road define the eastern and southern property lines. A small
creek crosses the southern portion of the Site. Surrounding properties are open pasture
land with occasional rural residences. The San Joaquin River can be seen to the east.
In the 1952 photo, a creek can be seen crossing the northern portion of the Site as well.
A field road crosses the property near its center. An object can be seen approximately
one-quarter of the way up the western side of the Site; a field road or canal leads to this
area. The New Jerusalem Airport is visible to the west. Some lots of the San Joaquin
River Club residential subdivision can be seen to the east.
In the 1963 photo, a shop building can be seen near the center of the Site. The creek
on the southern portion of the Site has been divided into ponds. Additional field roads
are present on the Site. An object can be seen near the northwest corner of the Site.
Portions of the Site appear to be irrigated. Several gas wells can be seen on nearby
properties.
LOGE 1115 Page 2
