INN
01 May 2007
AGE-NC Project No. 07-1516
ERNS Database (informational): The Emergency Response Notification System (ERNS) is a
national database used to collect information on reported releases of oil and hazardous substances.
The ERNS list did not include adjacent properties.
r.
STATE AND LOCAL RECORDS
AWP and BEP Databases: The AWP and BEP databases identify known contaminated sites
targeted for cleanup under the direction of the State of California. Active listed sites listed on the
` BEP/AWP databases within a one-mile search distance from the subject property are of potential
environmental concern to the subject property.
` The BEP and AWP lists did not include any sites within a one-mile search radius of the subject
property.
CAL-SITES Database: The CAL-SITES database contains both known and potential hazardous
substance sites.Potential sites are often identified following a visual observation made by Cal-EPA
during a drive-by survey and do not necessarily pose an environmental concern.
The CAL-SITES list did not include any sites within a one-mile search radius of the subject property
CHMIRS Database: The CHMIRS database contains lists of unauthorized releases of oils and
hazardous substances,typically from spills.
The CHMIRS list did not include adjacent properties.
°- CORTESE Database: The CORTESE database identifies known hazardous waste and substance
sites; most sites are also LUST sites. Except for unusual site conditions or large releases of
petroleum hydrocarbons, it has become increasingly recognized that releases of petroleum
hydrocarbons to the subsurface rarely migrate more than a few hundred feet from the point of release.
Therefore, sites located more than'/a mile away normally have limited potential to impact the subject
property.
The CORTESE list included fourteen sites within a 1/2-mile search radius of the subject property;all
sites were also listed on the LUST database.
LUST Database:The LUST database is an inventory of reported releases from underground storage
tanks (USTs). Studies suggest that petroleum hydrocarbons leaking from underground fuel tanks
rarely travel more than 250 feet from the point of release (Lawrence Livermore Laboratory,
ion Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
on
