At this time,
he indicated that he has owned the Site for eight to nine years; his father and
George Boys owned it previously.
Mr. Trinkle stated that an old wooden house was located on the Site near the
existing large tree. He hired a contractor to properly remove the house, he said.
Mr. Trinkle believed that a domestic well may have been near the house; if so,
the contractor would have properly abandoned it, he stated. He believed the
septic system may still remain on the Site. Mr. Trinkle was also aware of a
mobile home located on the Site at some point in the past which has since been
removed. The mobile home would also have had a septic system, he stated,
which may have been destroyed around 2006.
Mr. Trinkle did not recall an area on the western side of the Site being used as a
storage area, as seen in the 1998 through 2002 aerial photographs.
Regarding the incidents of spillage from trailers and drum storage (Section 6.1),
Mr. Trinkle indicated that both of these took place off the Site of the current
investigation. He stated, for the trailer incident, that the chemicals were spilled
inside the trailer, and very little if any spilled on the ground. Regarding the drum
storage incident, he noted that the drums contained used oil and solvent.
Mr. Trinkle stated that the New Jerusalem drainage ditch (Section 6.1) is still
underground; the only riser he was aware of is located just west of the Site.
Mr. Trinkle did not have copies of any of the original testing reports for the Trinkle
and Boys property.
A written questionnaire was also completed by Mr. Trinkle; it is included as
Appendix 4 of this report.
5.2 Interview with Regional Water Quality Control Board
Amy Terrell of the Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region,
was interviewed by telephone on March 12, 2015.
