2.2 Proposed Development A minor division is proposed to divide a homesite parcel from the remainder of the, propert�o c"ages in use of the Site are proposed. 2.3 Topooraphv A recent U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map was obtained from the San Joaquin County District Viewer. In the map, the Site is depicted as orchard. The property is approximately 102 to 112 feet above mean sea level with a slight grade down to the northeast. Surrounding properties are shown to be open agricultural land and orchard. This map is included as Platel in Appendix 1. 3.0 HISTORICAL RESEARCH 3.1 Aerial Photographs -�' Live Oak reviewed aerial photographs of the Site provided by the San Joaquin County Surveyor's Office in Stockton, California. The available photographs were dated 1937, 1952, 1963, 1975, and 1983. Three additional photographs, dated October 1998, September 2002, and September 2008, were obtained from the San Joaquin County District Viewer. In the 1937 photo, the Site appears to be open agricultural land; it is a portion of a larger agricultural field. A canal runs along Koster Road on the east side of the Site, and a smaller canal runs along the west side of the Site. Highway 33 and the railroad tracks can be seen to the northeast of the Site. A rural residence is located to the north of the Site. Other properties in the area appear to be open agricultural land. In the 1952 photo, a field road crosses the Site. The adjacent land to the east has been planted with orchard. The residence to the north can no longer be seen. No other significant changes are apparent. In the 1963 photo, the field road can no longer be seen. No other significant changes are apparent. In the 1975 photo, it appears that the Site and surrounding field have been planted with orchard. The orchard to the east has been removed. In the 1983 photo, the adjacent land to the west has been planted with orchard. No other significant changes are apparent. LOGE 1133 Page 2
