The Kosters own <br /> approximately 248 acres to the west of the Delta Mendota Canal. The land is planted <br /> to orchard and row crops. Mr. Koster's brother, Francis D. Koster, owns <br /> approximately 142 acres devoted to,orchard and row crops. Francis Koster's <br /> property is adjacent to the northeastern portion of the Thoming/DeSilva Gates site. <br /> Mr. Koster's sister, Thelma Koster Bennett, owns approximately 150 acres of land <br /> adjacent to the southeastern portion of the subject property. <br /> Access to the Clifford Koster property is over a roadway extending from Koster <br /> Road to the Delta Mendota Canal and then across a bridge over the Canal. The <br /> bridge over the Canal was constructed as a farm bridge as a part of the original Delta <br /> Mendota project. The roadway is shown in red (diagonally cross-hatched for the <br /> fax) on the attached drawing. While the roadway was in existence long prior to <br /> 1957, in 1957 Mr. and Mrs. Koster in connection with obtaining a loan were required <br /> to obtain a written recorded road easement. A copy of that easement is attached. As <br /> you point out, the Clifford Koster property is adjacent to Blewett Road. It is, <br /> however, separated from Blewett Road by the Hetch Hetchy Pipeline of the City and <br /> County of San Francisco. The Koster's solely for their own personal use have a <br /> limited right of access over the Hetch Hetchy line but it cannot be used by others <br /> coming to and from their property.
