Traffic Impact Study March 24,2004
Proposed RMC Pacific Mining Site Page 8
The intersection would be expected to be unsafe during foggy conditions, and it is not
recommended that truck traffic utilize the intersection for turning movements during foggy
conditions.
Intersection of Welty Road and SR 132
The existing traffic volumes indicate that the intersection of Welty Road and SR 132 was
operating at acceptable levels of service at the time the counts were taken, and the intersection is
expected to operate at acceptable levels of service with the project for both haul routes. Neither
of the proposed haul routes requires project traffic on Welty Road. In the future without the
project, the northbound approach to the intersection is expected to experience a level of service
F. The poor level of service is primarily the result of the difficulty that would be experienced by
northbound vehicles attempting to turn left. The future traffic volumes on Welty Road are
expected to be minimal and it is not anticipated that traffic signal warrants will be met.
r
Intersection of McCracken Road and SR 132
The existing traffic volumes indicate that the intersection of McCracken Road and SR 132 was
` operating at acceptable levels of service at the time the counts were taken, and the intersection is
expected to operate at acceptable levels of service with the project for both haul routes. Neither
of the proposed haul routes requires project traffic on McCracken Road. In the future without
` the project, the northbound and southbound approaches to the intersection are expected to
experience a level of service F. The poor levels of service are primarily the result of the
difficulty that would be experienced by vehicles attempting to turn left or proceed through across
V, both directions of SR 132. The future traffic volumes on McCracken Road are expected to be
minimal and it is not anticipated that traffic signal warrants will be met.
Interstate 5 / SR 132 Interchange
Freeway weaving and ramp analyses indicate that the interchange is expected to operate at
acceptable levels of service through the year 2025 with the project based on the projected traffic
volumes.
Interstate 5 /Interstate 580 Interchange
Freeway weaving and ramp analyses indicate that the interchange is expected to operate at
acceptable levels of service through the year 2025 with the project based on the projected traffic
volumes.
Interstate 580 / SR 132 Interchange
Freeway weaving and ramp analyses indicate that the interchange is expected to operate at
acceptable levels of service through the year 2025 with the project based on the projected traffic
volumes.
Bird Road between Blewett Road and SR 132
Bird Road currently operates at acceptable levels of service and is expected to continue to
operate at acceptable levels of service with the project through the year 2025. The project is
expected to increase the 20-year traffic index on Bird Road from 12.0 to 12.5 with Haul Route 1.
r
NW
