3. PROJECT DESCRIPTION
• Batch tower
• Aggregate bins
• Baghouse
• Hot oil tanks
PAVEMENT RECYCLING
Concrete comeback and waste concrete from the batch plant would be stockpiled for recycling.
Approximately 100,000 tons of material per year would be recycled. An inert landfill may be
included at the project t site. The types of material that would be placed in the inert landfill would
inclu a concrete, cleanfill, rock, aggregate, brick, approved concrete pipe, asphalt, etc. After the
landfill area is filled,it will be capped and returned to agriculture. If concrete and asphalt are
brought to the site any metal and rebar will be removed and hauled off the site to be sold as scrap.
The operation of an inert landfill would require obtaining permits from the California Integrated
Waste Management Board and the County Environmental Health Department.
MAINTENANCE SHOP
The facility would have an equipment maintenance shop approximately 4,500 square feet in size
` and would be located at the plant site in Phase IX.
r
PORTABLE PLANT
A portable concrete/asphalt pavement recycling plant will be intermittently brought on-site by an
independent operator. The plant will be located in the middle of the plant site. Broken concrete
and asphalt pavement will be brought on-site and stockpiled until a sufficient volume has been
generated to warrant a portable plant to be brought on-site to crush base material. A typical
recycling plant would include:
• Primary crusher
• Secondary crusher
• Screen decks
• Power generator trailer
• Conveyors
• Office trailer
• Stacker conveyor
` Portable office trailers will be placed during the construction phase in the Phase IX area just east
of the main entrance. The offices will also serve as a scale house and will be approximately
1,800 square feet in size. Three scales approximately 80 feet long will be placed on concrete
foundations. Wheel washers would be placed between the scales and the main entrance to assure
that tracking of dirt onto South Costa Ranch Road is kept to a minimum.
` RMC Pacific Vemahs Quany Mining and Reclamation Project 3-17 ESA/203015
Adnwdsva w Deft Ead Mach 2004
