JF
KLEINFELDER
2
6 RECOMMENDATIONS
6.1 RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on Kleinfelder's findings and the desires of CDD and PHS/EHD the following
recommendations were developed:
1. Continue quarterly groundwater soundings of the two monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-2 to
monitor potential perched water and/or seepage between the Delta Mendota Canal and a
proposed settling basin near the proposed`gravel pit area (Phase D. If groundwater Is
encountered CDD and Kleinfelder should be contacted and groundwater samples collected for
potential analyses.
F
2. The well head for two deep wells(DW-1 and DW-3) and the domestic well (DOM-1) should be
inspected and fitted with a sounding port for future groundwater sampling events. Additionally,
if possible, each of these wells including deep well DW-2B should be shut down for 24 to 48
hours prior to obtaining water levels so reliable groundwater elevation data can be obtained (Le.
pumping wells do not reflect static groundwater conditions).
3. Each of the six wells (three deep wells, one domestic well and the two monitoring wells) should
be surveyed (after sounding ports are installed), so future groundwater elevations, groundwater
flow directions and gradients can be calculated.
4. Continue annual groundwater sampling of the three deep wells and the domestic well at the
request of the PHS/EHD. Future groundwater sampling results should be compared to the
initial results (those contained within this report) as background levels since the gravel pits were
proposed at the time of sampling of the wells.
5. Kleinfelder recommends that a copy of this report should be submitted to San Joaquin
County Public Health Services Department, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) and
the San Joaquin County Community Development Department, Development Services
Division (CDD) for their review and comment.
This report, and the conclusions and recommendations presented in this Executive Summary, are
° subject to the "Limitations" presented in Chapter 7 of this report. Any other party (other than
DSS Company or regulatory agencies having enforcement jurisdiction for this site) who would
like to use this report shall notify Kleinfelder, Inc. of such intended use by executing the
"Application for Authorization to Use" which is included as an appendix to this report.
i
20-2245-36.E01/2011 R279 Page 8 of 10
Copyright 2001,Kleinfelder,Inc.
