KLEINFELDER
Laboratory Analysis
The .water samples collected were analyzed for metals boron, calcium, magnesium, iron,
potassium, and sodium. The water samples were also analyzed for alkalinity, hardness pH;
specific conductance, total dissolved solids, and anions chloride, nitrate as NO3, orthophosphate
as P, and sulfate as SO4.
Groundwater Results
In summary, the groundwater samples collected from Deep Well No. 1 (DW-1) and Deep Well
No. 2 (DW-2) in 2002 by JL Laboratories (as arranged by DSS), and the groundwater sample
collected from the Deep Well No. 3 (DW-3) collected by Kleinfelder showed consistent results
with the past sampling and monitoring events conducted at the site.
For a complete listing of the analytes and the analysis conducted please refer to the attached
laboratory reports included in Appendix A.
Groundwater Levels in Vicinity of Quarry
The depths to groundwater in the vicinity of the quarry have been measured in at least four wells
near the site. The four wells are DW-1, DW-2, RMC well DW-3, and the domestic well near the
southern end of the site. The depths to groundwater in the previously stated wells have been
measured and recorded back to 1999 (with the exception of DW-2 which was measured back to
2001). The depths to groundwater were recorded by Don Pedro Pump, LLC and supplied to DSS
for inclusion into this report.
DW-1 is located centrally along the quarry's western boundary, approximately 600 feet northeast
of the California Aqueduct. The depth to groundwater in DW-1 has ranged from 169,,,,et
(February 2000 253 feet M In general the water eves have been relatively
consistent for the past three monitoring events March 2001 through March 2003) with depth to
groundwater ranging from 247 feet to 253 feet.
f
DW-2 is located near the quarry's northwest corner, approximately 1,250 feet northeast of the
California Aqueduct. The depth to groundwater in DW-2 has ranged from 240 feet (September
2001) to 247 feet (February 2003). In general the water levels have been relatively consistent
over this time.
DW-3 is located approximately 300 feet east of the Delta Mendota Canal, less than 700 feet east
of the quarry boundary and approximately 2,500 feet north/northeast of the California Aqueduct.
The depth to groundwater in DW-3 has ranged from 167 feet (March 2000) to 174 feet (February
2003). The water levels have been relatively consistent showing on y a total of seven feet of
difference between the shallowest recording and the deepest recording over this time,
The domestic well is located south of the quarry, north of the California Aqueduct. The depth to
groundwater in the domestic well has ranged from 154 feet (February 1999) to 171 feet (February
2002).
29131.EOI /ST03I2781 Page 2 of 5
Copyright 2003.Kleinfelder,Inc.
