File No. 20-3576-0 KLEiNFELDER
April 24, 1992
"The history of past uses in ,the project area to assess potential
problems;" (C-4) :
Reference is made to Plate I of this report which shows the
location of the Fagundes property. The majority of the
site area consists of agricultural and pasture land with
scattered residences.
} On April 3 , 1992 , a representative of our firm visited
three residences located off Grant Line and Lammers Roads.
The purpose of the visits was to obtain information on
septic system use and to inquire about any problems known
to exist with this method of sewage disposal. None of the
residents questioned reported having problems with the
performance of their septic systems. We were informed that
their private wells produced "good" quality water.
ITEM C-2:
The suitability of the soil for development utilizing septic
systems; "
On March 31, 1992, a representative of our firm drilled and
set-up one 3-foot deep percolation test hole on each of the
proposed 2-acre and "designated remainder" parcels. The
test holes were drilled with hand drilling equipment using
a 6-inch diameter, continuous-flight auger. Perforated PVC
pipe was inserted into the test holes to prevent
disturbance when adding water. The test holes were filled
with relatively clean water and left to soak overnight.
i
On April 1, 1992, our representative returned to the site
to perform the percolation tests. As per San Joaquin
County guidelines, the tests were performed for a period of ;
4 hours. The last 30 minutes of each test were used to
calculate the percolation rates. In order to use standard
leach lines, the County requires a percolation rate of 60
` minutes per inch, or faster, at the 3-foot depth. Both
' tests failed to meet this percolation rate.
On April 13 , 1992, a representative of our firm returned to i
the site and drilled and set-up one additional 3-foot deep
test hole on each of the proposed parcels. On April 14,
1992 , our representative returned to the site and performed
the percolation tests. Passing percolation rates of 40 and
60 minutes per inch were obtained for the proposed 2-acre
and "designated remainder" parcels, respectively.
The approximate
locations where the passing percolation
rates were obtained are:, shown on Plate I.
