Surface and Subsurface Cont'l%nation Report*APN: 251-050-03*Parcel No0w,, c Designated Remainder
November 23, 2002
Walter E. Curtis
Civil Engineer
C. E. No. 11584
418 Matthew Plaza
Lodi, California 95240
Phone: (209) 368—4159
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
Subiect: Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report for Sam and Marie Tuso
property at 27369 South Lammers Road, Tracy, California 95376. The planned
development of this property consists of creating a home site parcel of 2.13 acres and a
designated remainder of 4 1.01 acres; all as shown on the attached "Tentative Parcel
Map"which is attached to and made an integral part of this report. These parcels are
located on a portion of the north one-half (NI/2)of Section 1, Township 3 South,Range
4 East,Mount Diablo Base and Meridian in San Joaquin County, California.
Submitted for your review, consideration and approval is a study conducted to
ascertain if there are any surface or subsurface contamination sources on the above
described project site and to determine the measures needed to mitigate any threat to the
environment and human health.
Property Current and Past Use: The project site is located in an agricultural area
situate on the west side of the road addressed at 27369 South Lammers Road and
bounded on the east by South Lammers road and the Delta Mendota Canal on the west.
The present 43.14 total acres has been devoted entirely to agricultural pursuits in the past
except for a home and farm equipment and storage area abutting South Lammers Road at
the property's southeast comer. No agricultural products are presently being grown on
the property. Dikes are visible on the property indicating alfalfa has been grown on it in
the past. The San Joaquin County Agriculture Commissioner's pesticide and herbicide
use report covered more specifically later in this report shows that lima beans and sugar
beets have also been grown on the property.
The property owner has informed me in an environmental questionnaire that it has
been standard practice to rip the soil on his property to a twenty-four(24) inch depth
annually.
There are no wells on the property. Domestic water is provided by an existing
[well that is located outside the boundaries of the property being studied and is located on other side of South Lammers Road from the home site on property to the east.
San Joaquin County Assessor and Recorder records were researched which
revealed that the Tuso family has owned the subject property in excess of fifty years and
Ram and Mnrie Tian 77'i6Q gmith r nmmwra Rnad TrRf California 01;176 0091 RI5-SQIn 1
