2.2 Proposed Development
A minor subdivision is proposed to split the Site into one parcel and a designated
remainder. A new home site will be placed on the property; the Site uses will otherwise
remain unchanged.
2.3 Topography
A recent U.S. Geological Survey 7.5-minute topographic map was obtained from the
San Joaquin County District Viewer. In the map, the Site is depicted as agricultural land
with one structure in its northeast corner. The property is approximately 88 to 97 feet
above mean sea level in an area with a slight grade down to the east. Surrounding
properties are primarily shown to be agricultural land and orchard. This map is included
as Plate 3 in Appendix 1.
3.0 HISTORICAL RESEARCH
3.1 Aerial Photographs
Live Oak reviewed aerial photographs of the Site provided by the San Joaquin County
Surveyor's Office in Stockton, California. The available photographs were dated 1940,
1952, 1963, 1975, and 1983. Two additional photographs, dated 1998 and March 2005,
were obtained from the San Joaquin County District Viewer.
In the 1940 photo, the Site appears to be an orchard. An irrigation canal passes along
the western side of the Site, and Lehman Road defines the eastern side. The adjoining
properties appear to be orchards and pasture. Two structures are present immediately
to the north.
In the 1952 photo, no significant changes are apparent.
In the 1963 photo, a structure can be seen at the northeast corner of the Site. An
irrigation return water pond is to the immediate south of the Site. No other significant
changes are apparent.
In the 1975 photo, the orchard has been removed from the Site. No other significant
changes are apparent.
In the 1983 photo, it appears that there may be a small agricultural pond near the
northeast corner of the Site. No other significant changes are apparent.
In the 1998 photo, one or more structures can now be seen at the northeast corner of
the Site. No other significant changes are apparent.
LOGE0916 Page 2
