contamination includes storage of boats and their motors. Historically there have been no
underground storage tanks. The owner has no knowledge of above ground storage of chemicals.
3.3 Description of All Current On-Site Potential and/or Known Above and Below Ground
Sources of Contamination Identified at the Project Site: Presently there are no underground
storage tanks on the property and visual inspection did not produce any evidence of buried
containers, as well as no odors that would be associated with buried chemical tanks. There are no
storage tanks above ground. There are no above ground fuel tanks on the site. The site includes a
storage building, a market, and a trailer home for the operator on the premises. There are no
drainage courses through the property. On-site storm water is contained on-site and dissipates
through either percolation or evaporation.
3.4 Description of All Past Off-Site Potential and/or Known Above and Below Ground
Sources of Contamination Identified in the Area of the Project Site: Past off-site potential for
contamination is the proximity to Highway 88. There is no knowledge of below ground sources
of contamination in the area of the project site that has or may impact the project site.
3.5 Description of all Present Off-Site Potential and/or Known Above and Below Ground
Sources of Contamination Identified in the Area of the Project Site: Present off-site potential
for contamination is the proximity to Highway 88. There is no knowledge of below ground
sources of contamination in the area of the project site that has or may impact the project site.
4.0 EVALUATION OF PAST AND CURRENT SOURCES OF
CONTANUNATION IDENTIFIED AT OR NEAR THE SITE AND
RECONEMENDATIONS FOR FURTHER ACTION:
4.1 Evaluation of Each Potential and/or Known Source of Contamination Identified for any
Real and/or Potential Threat to Human Health and the Environment: The depth to ground
-- water in this area is approximately 130 feet. Due to this depth, any pesticides, insecticides, and
fertilizers used on the property in the past or present would have a minimal impact to the ground
water. The potential for contamination from the boat storage facility should be minimal due to
the boats being stored on paved areas and in a warehouse facility with a concrete floor, thus
creating an impenetrable barrier for any dropped oil or fuels. The existing market and trailer
home on site do not pose any significant threats to ground water or the surrounding environs.
Highway 88 is busy and there are fuels and oils that vehicles traveling this way may drop onto
the asphalt and during wet weather may runoff onto the side of the road and adjacent ditches.
The potential home on the future 2.52 acre parcel does not pose any significant threat to the
surrounding environs. The use of approved best management practices for the containment of
soil or any contaminates by straw waddles around the construction site and other practices to
reduce the introduction of any dirt or contaminates into the storm runoff system will be required
at the time of the construction of the home per County Building Department.
