The USDA Soil Survey of San Joaquin County describes the soil as San Joaquin-Bruella
and further described as moderately well drained and well drained, moderately coarse textured
and medium textured soils that are moderately deep to a cemented hardpan or are very deep, on y
low terraces. Where the soil is used for homesite development, the main limitations are depth to
the very slowly permeable claypan, depth to the hardpan, the high shrink-swell potential and low
strength in the sub-soil.
The soil profile indicates the soil is suitable for a standard septic system supporting a SFR.
C. OPERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION
A site map is included with dimensions to the test hole. The hole was located based on the
d owner's description of the proposed SFR location. Only one parcel is tested. Three holes were
7 augured on 9/26/05. On 9/28/05 water was added to each hole (12" for shallow hole; 6" of water
G Sj in deep holes). The holes were sleeved and gravel placed per SJC Policy EHD 02-02. On 9/29/05
at 0900 hours the 4 hour testing began. Water remained in the shallow hole, which failed to perc.
The deep hole was dry and approximately 6" of water was added as required. The test hole was a
rapid perc., which is to be expected in a sand layer.
The test form was completed with the inspector(Lisa Medina)present for the last two readings.
6.S The percolation rate was3.47 min/in requiring 6,000 SF of leach field area.
6. 7 -C• f
No problems are anticipated based on the field tests and observation of the sand strata and also
owner states they have had no problem with the existing septic system since installation. (A
garbage disposal was used daily)
CONCLUSION
All septic system installation work is to be by permit from and inspection by the Environmental
Health Department of San Joaquin County.
The Test Report Form was signed by the Engineer and Inspector,Lisa Medina.
2.
