1.
FjNovember 8, 2005
s.
NOA Project Number: E05123B
-4
fliAverage potential evapotranspiration was obtained from the California Irrigation Management
Information System (CIMIS). Stockton is located within evapotranspiration zone number 12. The
average rain fall for the Lodi area was obtained from the Western Regional Climate Center
(www.wrcc.dri.edu), and was found to be 17.57 inches per year for the years 1948 through 2004.
Based on this method, the average deep percolation of rain for the Lodi area is estimated to be 5.76
inches. The nitrate concentration of rain fall was estimated to be 1 mg/L-N.(Hantzsche and
Finnemore, 1992).
3.3 Current On-Site Sources of Nitrate
No sources of nitrates besides septic effluent and rainfall are recognized. The solid and liquid waste
products generated from the Olive Mill will be properly disposed off site on adjacent fields under a 1
permit from the California Regional Water Quality Board,
EFi3.3.1 Existing Septic System
No known septic systems exist on the 8.2 acre site.
fl!
3.3.2 :dcultural Contribution
No agricultural uses were considered for the 8.2 acre site since it's only purpose is for the Olive
processing facility.
3.3.3 Solid and Liquid Waste Generated From the Olive Mill
As mentioned in the introduction of this report, a Report of Waste Discharge has been prepared by
Ground Zero Analysis, Inc. of Stockton, California and has been recently submitted to the
California Regional Water Quality Control Board. Ground Zero Analysis study concluded that the
j liquid and solid waste generated from the facility falls under the Regional Board's Small Food
Processing waver permit. This report is currently be reviewed by the Regional Board as part of the
y permitting process.
solidand liquid waste generated for the site was discussed in detail in the Report of
The estimated g p
Waste Discharge prepared by Ground Zero Analysis, Inc. An excerpt describing the solid waste
from the report is as follows:
The olive mill operation willgenerate approximately 2 tons per days of twigs and leaves from cleaning the fruits and
approximately 85 tons per day of pomace from the milling operation. After plant expansion these daily rates will
double. During the fzrstyear of operation the total tonnage of solid waste is estimated to be approximately 435 tons
This will increase to a total of approximately 1,300 tons by the thirdyear of operation and apbroximatey7,000 tons
at maximum plant capacity in futureyears Disposal of the solid waste will be by land application. The material will
be spread on agricultural acreage surrounding the mill facility and will be disked in to the ground.
4
