Applicatioe-Number:.PA-0200256(SA)and ---
Gravel Plant and Kellogs Plant Traffic.
W.Van Buren,
It has come to my attention that a waste-water pond is being proposed for the winery on Locke
road.I have several objections to this.My first problem is I live within a quarter mite of the proposed site. I
have been around grapes and wine production all my life. The idea that bacteria will stop the off-gassing of
the pumice in the ponds is ridiculous. If that were true, why do you still smell odors from other facilities in
other areas?I am concerned about the ground water and the affect the ponds will have on the water table in
the long run and the added insect problems. My second problem is the traffic.I live on Tretheway road and
I can tell you that the truck traffic from the winery,Kellogs and the gravel pits is terrible.l have to listen to
diesels and Jake brakes all day and all night. The gravel plant trucks are the worst. They fly up and down
Tretheway road like it is a racetrack dropping gravel everywhere as they go.1 intend to do everything in my
power to combat both the addition of waste-water ponds and to stop all commercial traffic up and down
Tretheway road. I have been here much longer than any of these businesses have and do not intend to get
walked all over. Let these big money businesses go somewhere else where they don't interfere with
residential settings or maybe I should establish the same types of business next to their homes.
S ely,
Chris Hintz,REA,CJE,SST,C1AQ'I'
DHS I/A 7010
17316 North Tretheway Road
Lockeford,CA 95237
916 417-5362/209 333-1434
June 26,2002
