Past Uses of the Site Based on information reviewed for the Surface & Subsurface Contamination Report (Live Oak, 2015), the Site has been used for agriculture since 1975 or earlier. The house on the Site was constructed in 2006. Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage Existing Septic System According to the tentative parcel map (Quartaroli, 2015), one septic system is currently located on the Site to serve the house. Proposed Septic System Ms. Van Groningen indicated that no new construction is planned for the Site. On-Site Septic Permit History One septic system permit for the Site was identified at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. The permit, dated August 2006, was for a new residential septic system. A 1,600-gallon septic tank, two 50' leach lines, and two 2' by 20' by 10'-deep sumps were installed. A copy of the permit has been included in Appendix 4 of this report. Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity To estimate the existing septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Aerial imagery from GoogleEarth was used. Each building cluster on the photograph was assumed to have one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that 25 or more septic systems per square mile are present in the immediate vicinity of the Site. The general area consists orchards, vineyards, agricultural land, and rural residences. Septic Permit History in the Vicinity Based on a recent review of septic permits on file at the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department for nearby properties, it appears that the septic systems in the area utilize leach lines, leach lines with sumps, or leach lines with seepage pits.
