L LDecember 2, 2005 NOA Project Number: E05139A L According to EXTOXNET,lambda-cyhalothrin is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide and acaricide used to control a wide range of pests. It is moderately toxic in the technical form,but may be highly toxic via some routes in formulation. Lambda-cyhalothrin is moderately persistent in the soil environment, Lwith a field half-life close to 30 days in most soils (Pesticide Information Profile, 2001). AL6 [later Supply and Sewage Disposal System LOne domestic well is located on the subject property, according to Ms. Moffit The approximate location of this well is indicated on the site map (Appendix A). Ms. Moffit indicated that the office j building has a septic system,but she is not sure of its location. She stated that the septic system for the `. mobile home is still usable but not currently connected to a structure.15 L The EHD well and septic permit files were searched on October 18,2005 in an effort to obtain copies of permits for any water wells or septic tanks on the subject property;two permits were found. The first permit,dated July 1977,was for the installation of a new septic system to serve a mobile home. The V second permit, dated May 1983, was for the installation of a new septic system northwest of the 160 previous one to serve a new mobile home;itis possible that this system is located to the west of the current site boundaries. Both permits indicate that there is an existing well on the property near the rice dryer structures. 6. 31.7 Department of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources I The California Department of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR)well map W5-316 was reviewed for evidence of oil or gas wells on or in the vicinity of the subject property. No wells are Ldepicted within one-quarter mile of the subject property. 3.1.8 Site Reconnaissance LA visual reconnaissance of the subject property was conducted on October 24,2005. Photographs of the subject property are attached to this report as Appendix B. A site visit/assessment checklist is I attached to this report as Appendix D. L The subject property was observed to be a relatively flat, 15-acre parcel. A rice dryer facility consisting of four silos,an office budding/scale house,and a shed was operating along the northern edge of the property. A driveway loop enters and exits the facility from Lone Tree Road. At the northwest corner of the property, the ground was packed earth, and several semi trucks were observed to be parked. Three propane tanks were observed to the north of the silos. One five-gallon bucket,a plastic drum, L and some wood debris were observed to the south of the shed;an area of stained soil approximately two feet across was observed near the bucket.
