KL EINFELDER
r
7. FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS
r
r
Kleinfelder performed this ESA of the subject site located at the southwest corner of Lone Tree
Road and Campbell Road in Escalon, California in conformance with the scope and limitations
► of ASTM Practice E1527. The subject site was, at the time of the site reconnaissance, a vacant
field. The subject site was just a agriculture field in the past.
In summary:
1. Because of the past and present agricultural use on the property, it is possible that
` pesticides and/or herbicides were used on the site and the surrounding properties as a part
of normal crop production. Although no information specifically for the subject site was
available from the San Joaquin County Agricultural Commissioner's office, the potential
r impact to the soils from the pesticide/herbicide use on site and regionally is unknown.
Testing and analysis could be conducted to evaluate the impact of local and regional
pesticide/herbicide use on the soils.
2. On properties with a history of agricultural use, many underground pipelines may exist.
It was common for said pipelines to contain asbestos (e.g. Transite pipe). Subsurface
exploration is not a part of a typical Phase I Environmental Site Assessment scope of
work. In the event that any subsurface structures are encountered during site
► development or excavation on site, care should be exercised in determining whether or
not the subsurface structures contain asbestos. If they contain asbestos, they should be
removed, handled, transported, and disposed of in accordance with local, state, and
r federal laws and regulations. Additionally, if suspect materials are encountered, the
signatories of this report should be notified immediately.
3. Adjacent to the subject site are residential residences and barns. Associated with the
features may be septic systems, above/underground storage tanks, agricultural chemicals,
etc., which have the potential to impact the subject site. It is unknown if any such impact
has occurred. However, if an impact has occurred as the result of a neighboring property,
the responsibility for any investigation or cleanup required by regulatory agencies
commonly falls on the responsible party (e.g. neighbor). If any evidence of
` contamination is discovered, the signatories of this report should be contacted
immediately.
This report is subject to limitations in Chapter 8. Any party other than the Client who would like
to use this report shall notify Kleinfelder, Inc. of such intended use by executing the "Application
for Authorization to Use"contained in Appendix D of this document.
ion
20-4280-OLEO 1/2019R 177 Page 20 of 23
Copyright 1999,Kleinfelder,Inc.
