(§ 6.2, 6.3 and 6.5) On December 2, 2005, 1400 hrs, one shallow perc test boring at 42 inches
and one deeper test boring at 15 feet were drilled with a truck-mounted drill rig on proposed Parcel
I and Parcel 2, along with the 25 feet exploratory boring. The test borings for Parcel 1 was drilled '
in an anticipated homesite location.
The sidewalls of the shallow borings were scored with a pry-bar and the loose material removed. V,
The deeper borings could not be scored due to their depths, nor was there a need to score the
sidewalls since there is a sandy soil structure at this test depth. Two inches of fine gravel was
placed at the bottom and three-inch perforated PVC pipe was inserted in each of the four test
borings. All borings were pre-saturated on December 8, 2005 at 1000 hrs with 12 inches of water.
(§ 6.4) On December 9, 2005, 0900 hrs, percolation testing commenced for all four borings. There
was standing water after the 24-hour soak period in the two shallow perc tests borings due to the
clay/hardpan type soil, as illustrated in Table 1 below. Consequently, EHD Pere Test Procedure#1
was conducted for these two borings.
There was no standing water after the 24-hour soak period in the two deep test borings. Therefore,
EHD Test Procedure#2 was performed for these borings. The last half hour of the tests was
witnessed by Ted Tasiopoulos,R.E.H.S. of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department. The maximum acceptable perc rate is 60 min/in for shallow perc tests and 30 min/in for
the deep tests.
(§ 5.4 and 6.8)The following Table illustrates the proposed Parcel number, potential septic system
structure based on depth of passing perc rates, proposed acreage, post soak period status and perc
test results for the respective perc test depths:
TABLE 1
PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS AND RELATED DATA
PROPOSED PARCEL PROPOSED PERC TEST DEPTHS: POST SOAK FERC TEST
AND POTENTIAL ACREAGE SHALLOW PERIOD RESULTS
SEPTIC SYSTEM DEEP STATUS
STRUCPURE
Parcel 1 10.53 Acres 42 INCHES10 Inches FAILED
Leachlines and Sumps, Standing Water (0 min/in)
or Seepage Pits
180 INCHES(15 FEET) No Standing 15.6 nun/in
Water in Hole
Parcel 2 10.50 Acres 42 INCHES —10 Inches FAILED
Leachlines and Sumps, Standing Water (0 nun/in)
or Seepage Pits
180 INCHES(15 FEET) No Standing 8.9 min/in
Water in Hole
Page -3-
Chesney Consulting
