The property consists of an
approximate ten-acre Parcel, with their home being constructed near the center of the subject
Parcel.
Percolation testing had been previously conducted on this Parcel in the extreme northwest comer.
This initial perc test was approximately 220 feet from the proposed location of the future septic
system disposal area. The policy of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(EHD) is for the installation of a septic system leachfield to be within 100 feet of the percolation
tests conducted for that specific leachfield area.
The percolation test locations and subsequent disposal area for the Worley's new home are
denoted on the attached Plot Plan. Acceptable percolation in the deeper soils was observed,
while virtually nonexistent permeability was observed in the shallow soils.
SUBSURFACE SOIL STRUCTURE
A Mobile Drill B-24 truck-mounted drill rig with solid stem auger was used to drill the
exploratory and percolation test borings in the future effluent disposal area. This area was
determined by Mr. Rob Worley. A field log-of-boring was made from soil auger cuttings of the
25 feet deep exploratory boring, which is found in Appendix C. Soil characteristics are described
using the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS). As denoted on the log of boring, the soil
characteristics underlying the disposal area down to four feet reveal the soil to be predominately
lean clay containing a fine sand, with a cemented silts hardpan and claypan.
Page 4-
T O.
