The purposes and goals of this project are many. The project has been designed for the following: - Provide an area for environmental education for various local schools, clubs, and church groups. - Increase the diversity of wildlife and the quality of wildlife habitat onrthe project area. - Provide an area for training and competition of. highly skilled and professional water skiers. — Provide a working aquaculture facility for public education acid research to study the feasibility of a designed coexistence between water skiing and aquaculture production. - Provide a quality trophy largemouth bass fishery for sportfishing recreation. Restore riparian wildlife habitat to promote the coexistence of human recreation and diverse wildlife populations. As a mitigation measure, the proposed project will leave approximately 55% (41 acres) of land as prime wildlife habitat by either preservation or restoration of the native habitats on site. The resulting actions have the potential to significantly increase the quality of habitat and diversity of- wildlife species within the project, as well as within the adjacent wildlife corridors. specific needs for the project include (see attached plans) : 1) Construction of various educational nature trails including viewing platforms, educational signs, rest areas, and lunch areas. Potential designs and all building materials will be provided by Mr. Eagal. A professional wildlife biologist will be provided to assist with the project. 2) Construction of an 11.25 acre lake for aquaculture and water skiing. The designs and plans for the lake have been completed. 3) Clearing of brush and undesirable vegetation of low wildlife value. 4) Drainage and restoration of existing 11.55 acre lake to increase fish and wildlife habitat. A professional fisheries biologist will be provided to assist with the project. 28
