Fexisting
ion testing was conducted on proposed Parcels 1, 2, 3 and 4 as illustrated on the
found in Appendix C. The pert test location for Parcel l was directly south of the
g pad where the leachfield will be installed. The pert test location for Parcel 1 was
the existing well location and structures.
The following information describes the preparation of the percolation test borings and the actual
pert testing: (§ 6.2, 6.3 and 6.5) On July 19,2005, one shallow pert test boring of 42 inches in
depth was hand-drilled on proposed Parcels 1, 2, 3 and 4. Only shallow depth borings were drilled
and pert tested because leachlines will ultimately manage the majority of effluent flows from any
new structure. The sidewalls of the shallow borings were scored with a pry-bar and the loose
material removed. Two inches of fine gravel was placed at the bottom and three-inch perforated
PVC pipe was inserted in the test borings. All test borings were pre-saturated on July 19, 2005 at
0900 hrs with 12 inches of water.
(§ 6.4) On July 20, 2005, 0600 hrs, percolation testing commenced for all four borings. There was
no standing water after the 24-hour soak period in the perc tests borings, as illustrated in Table 1
below. Consequently, EHD Perc Test Procedure#2 was conducted for all four test borings. The last
half hour of the tests was witnessed by David Van Dyne of the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department.
(§ 5.4 and 6.8) The following Table illustrates the proposed Parcel number, potential septic system
structure based on depth of passing perc rates, proposed acreage, post soak period status and perc
test results for the respective perc test depths:
TABLE 1
PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS AND RELATED DATA
PROPOSED PARCEL PROPOSED SHALLOW POST SOAK PERC TEST
AND POTENTIAL
SEPTIC SYSTEM ACREAGE PERCOLATION TEST PERIOD RESULTS
STRUCTURE DEPTHS STATUS
Parcel 1 12.97 Acres 42 INCHES No Standing 3.8 min/in
Existing Leachlines and Water in Hole
Sumps(?)
(Has Two Existing Wells)
Parcel 2 12.97 Acres 42 INCHES No standing 15.6 min/in
Leachlines and Water in Hol,
Sumps(?)
Parcel 3 12.93 Acres 42 INCHES No Standing 3.6 min/in
Leachlines Water in Hole
Parcel 4 46.16 Acres 42 INCHES No Standing L4.7 min/in
Leachlines and Water in Hole
Sumps(?)
(Has One Existing Well)
Chesney Consulting
