I%-II *40
The housing for the SCR reactor will be oversized to
accommodate approximately 25 percent additional catalyst.
A removable section will be provided in the boiler inlet
duct to allow for the future installation of a carbon
monoxide (CO) converter. Preliminary emission data
indicate the CO converter will not be required although
this must be confirmed by testing after the gas turbine
has been placed in operation.
d. Water Treatment Plant
Waste water from the Sharpe Army Depot remediation
facility will enter the cogeneration plant via pipeline
and will be further treated before being used in the cogen
plant processes. This water , which is otherwise disposed
of in the French Camp Slough, is filtered , stored and then
directed to both the cooling tower (as make-up) and to a
demineralizer for further purification prior to use in the
boilers.
The demineralizer unit will consist of two 100 percent
trains designed to meet the energy plant demands. The
water that is rejected from the demineralizer is equal to
about twelve percent of the demineralizer feed. The waste
stream has a concentration of about F3,000 ppm TDS. This
waste stream is neutralized and then routed to an EPA
approved injection well .
Storage tanks will be provided to maintain a 24 hour
supply of treated water. This will allow for continued
plant operation during periods when either- the raw water
supply has been curtailed or both trains of the
demineralizer are down for maintenance.
High pressure feedwater pumps will be installed to boost
the water to the required boiler operating pressures.
e. Plant Auxiliaries
1 . Compressed Air
Compressed air will be used for pneumatic controls and
service air in the plant. The primary source of the air
will be from a 125 psig inter-stage port on the gas
turbine air compressor . An electric motor driven air
compressor will be provided for startup and backup of the
primary system. Air dryers will provide dry instrument
quality air . An air receiver will be installed in the air
system for liquid knockout and surge capacity.
2. Lube Oil Systems
The gas turbine and generator have separate lube oil
systems on the respective skids. The lube oil systems
will consist of lube oil reservoir's, lube oil pumps, dual
