Codes and Standards <br /> The buildings will be constructed according to the Uniform <br /> Fire Code of California and the NFPA standard. None of <br /> the buildings are over 6,000 square feet and therefore do <br /> not come under the sprinkler ordinance. However , an <br /> automatic Halon blanketing system will be used in the <br /> Power Control Building. <br /> 2.4 Plant Employment <br /> a. Operation <br /> The proposed project will generate a certain level of <br /> direct on-site employment . An operating shift will <br /> require two power plant operators. It is planned that the <br /> majority of general maintenance will be done during the <br /> day shift on weekdays. This will require two persons. <br /> The plant manager , an engineer , a clerk/secretary and a <br /> laborer will also work at the plant during the weekday <br /> shift. Attachment 5 summarizes the plant 's personnel <br /> requirements. During scheduled plant shutdowns for <br /> general maintenance, craftsmen will be hired locally <br /> through a maintenance contractor. <br /> b. Construction <br /> The majority of the union construction workers will be <br /> drawn from the Stockton/Lathrop/Manteca area. A small <br /> number of supervisors for specialized tasks may be from <br /> outside the local area. The construction activity will <br /> last approximately ten months. <br />
