116,, `/
An emergency power system energized from the station
batteries will provide backup for certain critical
equipment if normal electric service is interrupted.
Items on this system will include bearing oil pumps,
emergency lighting and critical control systems.
g. Fire Protection
Separate dry chemical fire protection systems will be
provided for the turbine generator- enclosure and the Power
Control Building. These will be double-shot , automatic
Halon blanketing systems with smoke and fire detection
devices. Manually operated fire extinguishers will be
provided at these and other locations within the plant.
A fire water system will also be included which will be
fed from a pressurized water main.. The fire water system
will feed a fire monitor which will be centrally located
within the plant area and can spray water in a 150 foot
radius. A sprinkler system will be located at the
generator lube oil skid.
2.3 Buildings
a. Power Control Building
The Power Control Building will consist of two
prefabricated steel modular enclosures joined together in
the field and will house the main plant control system,
office and restroom facilities, motor control centers,
electrical switchgear , protective relay panels and station
batteries. The control system will include
instrumentation , monitoring and alarm systems for the
facility. CRT monitors will display conditions in the
plant. A microprocessor system will record and store
current and historical operational data. The plant
operator will have the capability to load , unload and shut
down the gas turbine, boiler and other plant equipment
from the control room. Metering devices will record steam
and power production for analyzing plant pe=rformance and
for billing purposes. Total size of the power control
building will be 1500 square feet.
The power control building will also contain monitoring
and control devices for the plant 's water treatment
system, the steam custody transfer sales metering and the
continuous emissions monitoring system. The building will
be of metal construction , erected on-site. Total size of
the instrument building will be 420 square feet.
b . Administration/Maintenance Building
This building will house offices for the facility's
administration staff and a shop area for plant maintenance
activities. The structure will be of metal construction
erected on-site. The size of the
