CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION <br /> INSPECTION DURING CONSTRUCTION: <br /> Any improvements constructed to these specifications and <br /> which it is intended that the County or District will assume <br /> maintenance responsibility, must be inspected during construc- <br /> tion by an authorized agent of the Owner and Director of <br /> Public Works. Each phase of construction must be inspected <br /> and approved prior to proceeding to the subsequent phases. <br /> Any improvements constructed without inspection as <br /> provided above of constructed contrary to the orders or <br /> instructions of the authorized agent of the Owner and Director <br /> of Public Works will be deemed as not complying with San <br /> Joaquin County Standards and Specifications , and will not be <br /> accepted by San Joaquin County for maintenance purposes. <br /> The Owner will have compaction tests taken on all lots <br /> where the depth of fill is greater than 7 inches and within <br /> the streets. Retests that are the result of the contractor ' s <br /> failure to compact these areas as required will be borne by <br /> the contractor. <br /> The County Department of Public Works will perform field <br /> inspection for this project. <br /> The Engineer and Owner, or their agents, shall at all <br /> times , have access to the work during its construction, and <br /> shall be furnished with every reasonable facility for ascer- <br /> taining that the materials and the workmanship are in ac- <br /> cordance with the requirements and intentions of these <br /> Specifications, Special Provisions, and Plans. All work done <br /> and all materials furnished, shall be subject to his review. <br /> The review of the work or materials shall not relieve the <br /> Contractor and Developer of any of their obligations to <br /> fulfill their contract as prescribed. <br /> IT - (o <br />
