r.•
MULLER RD.
Page No. 3
Two ground water samples were obtained from existing wells, one on each of the parcels.
For approximate well locations see the location map. Both samples were obtained on September
4, 1998 by a representative of our office and tested for the presence of nitrates and
dibromochloropropane (DBCP). Test results indicated that DBCP was non-detected in both
wells and nitrate levels were non-detected in well I and 14 mg/L in well 2. A copy of the test
results are included in the Appendix.
VI SOIL PROFILE AND PERCOLATION TESTS
Two test holes were excavated to a depth of 10 feet in the areas of the proposed parcel
splits in order to determine the soil profile in the general area. The test holes were excavated
with a truck mounted drill rig utilizing a 4.5 inch diameter continuous flight auger. For
approximate location of the test holes (PT) seethe Parcel Map, Plate No.l. The soil profile
holes were logged by an engineer and a description of the soils encountered is contained on the
Log of Boring Sheets, Plates No.2 and 3 in the Appendix.
A total of 10 shallow, 36" deep, percolation tests were performed, one on each of the
proposed lots. For each of the tests a 4.0 inch diameter hole was excavated and 2 inches of
gravel was placed at the bottom of each hole. A 2.25 inch diameter perforated pipes was then
placed in each hole and backfilled with gravel. The test holes were filled with water 24 hours
prior to running the tests. The last half hour of the test readings were witnessed by a county
health official and the test data obtained is enclosed in the Appendix. The percolation rates have
been adjusted to account for the gravel and pipe backfill. Calculations for this adjustment is on
the test data sheet.
