The soil conditions encountered in the deeper percolation test(P-2)
consisted of alternating layers of dark brown and light brown silty clay to depths of
approximately 8 feet. From 8 feet to approximately 9112 feet a brown clayey sand was
encountered. The percolation test was performed primarily in this lower, more granular stratum.
The County approved percolation field test sheet was included in our original letter to Mr.
Vierra. The calculated percolation rate for the last 30 minutes was 30 minutes per inch, We note
that the shallow percolation test failed,as expected, at 120 minutes per inch.
CONCLUSIONS
Basad on the results of our percolation test, soil profile, and past performance of the existing
septic systems immediately north of the Ralph's Statuary project, it is our professional opinion
that the proposed leach field system can be constructed as planned. Near the location of P-2 a
probe was made to the 15 foot depth to evaluate whether more granular soils existed with
increased depth. The soils encountered below the 9 A6 foot depth were found to consist of either
silty clay or clayey silt; therefore, there may not be a significant benefit in extending the seepage
pit much deeper than approximately 10 feet. However, even if the seepage pit was extended to
the depth of 25 feet, which is the maximum depth apparently allowed by San Joaquin County,
the bottom of the pit will still be well above the groundwater elevation.
Based on our evaluation, it is our opinion that the existing and proposed septic system should not
adversely effect the quality of groundwater in the area-
LIMITATION
rea.
I ITI 11 AT.ION$
The conclusions of this report are based on the information provided regarding the existing and
proposed development and on the site conditions as they existed at the time we excavated our
test pit and performed the percolation tests. It was assumed that the test boring and percolation
tests results are representative of the subsurface conditions in the general area.
It is in our professional opinion that the findings and statements do not constitute a guarantee or
warranty,expressed or implied.
Respectfully submitted,
KLEINF DER,INC.
Ron Heinzen, C-E.,G.E.
Regional Manager/ Senior Principal
20-3233-01,M 12/2019LS82
Copynot 1999 Kleinfddcr,Inc, October 11, 199999
