Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study
Proposed Global Carrier Inc.■ Manteca, California 1rerracon
August 8, 2018 s Terracon Project No. NA187034
1.3.4 Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
In an attempt to determine the septic system density for the vicinity of the site, our office reviewed
a recent aerial photograph of the property available from GoogleEarthTM. The vicinity of the site
consists of industrial properties, agricultural land, and rural residences. The assumption was
made that each building/cluster of buildings has one septic system. Using this method, we
determined there is an average of 30 systems within 1/4 mile of the site. Refer to Section 1.3.5 for
a history of septic permits in the site vicinity.
1.3.5 Septic Permit History in the Vicinity
Online septic permits available on the EHD website were reviewed for properties adjacent to the
site. The following table is a summary of adjacent property septic permits:
Table 2.
Summary of Adjoining Property Septic Permits.
Leach Seepage
Leach Pits/Sumps/
Address Date Permit Tank Size Line Line Filter Bed
(Gallons) QuantityLength
(Feet) (Quantity,
Size)
17981 S. Hart Lane 1972 72-34 1,200 1 3 70 ---
Based on a review of the EHD permits, the septic systems in the area appear to utilize standard
leach lines and/or filter beds. Leach lines are between 30 and 70 feet in length.
1.3.6 Septic Repair Permit History in the Vicinity
Based on a review of the adjoining property permits, septic repair permits appear to be for
additional leach lines to the existing septic systems. Copies of the permits are included in
Appendix C.
Responsive■ Resourceful■ Reliable 6
