HIGHWAY 120 <br /> RIPON, CALIFORNIA <br /> OUR PROJECT NUMBER: NA167049 <br /> Our office was contracted by Mr. Dave Wolf of The Wine Group to conduct a Soil Suitability/Nitrate <br /> Loading Study (SS/NLS) for the property at 16636 E. Highway 120, Ripon, California. The <br /> formatting of this report has been designed to follow, to the greatest degree possible, EHD Soil <br /> Suitability Study Requirements Checklist, dated September 25, 2007, and Nitrate Loading Study <br /> Requirements Checklist, dated July 14, 2003. <br /> 1.0 SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br /> 1.1 Introduction and Development <br /> The Soil Suitability Study (SSS) was conducted to determine whether site soils are suitable for <br /> septic system usage. The study was performed according to the requirements of Section 9- <br /> 1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. A major element of the field work <br /> included conducting percolation tests that meet absorption rates as specified by San Joaquin <br /> County, Public Health Services, Environmental Health Department (EHD). A review of published <br /> soil information, geologic maps, and groundwater information was also performed. <br /> 1.1.1 Site Description <br /> The site is located on an approximately 77.56 acre tract of land (APN 245-060-29) located at <br /> 16636 E. Highway 120, Ripon, San Joaquin County, California.. The site and adjoining northern, <br /> and eastem properties currently consist of a vineyard and/or vacant land. The adjoining eastern _ <br /> property consists of an existing leach field followed by the Franzia Winery, and the adjoining <br /> southern property consists of a road and scalehouse followed by a vineyard. <br /> According to the San Joaquin County Community Development Department website the site is <br /> an agricultural zone (AG). This zoning designation "is established to preserve agricultural lands <br /> for the continuation of commercial agricultural activities". <br /> Responsive ■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 3 <br />
