This soil is classified as Class IIW
with irrigation.
r VEGETATION AND WILDLIFE
Moore Biological consultants surveyed the project site in January 2000. The purpose of the survey was
to provide a description of biological resources and habitats on and adjacent to the project site with a
focus on identifying resources such as wetlands and sensitive species or their habitat. A subsequent
survey and update letter was completed in January 2001 to address the potential issue of whether or not
a species of riparian bush rabbit is likely to inhabit the site. In general; no wetlands, sensitive species or
habitat for sensitive species were identified on the site. Detailed findings of both of these surveys are
contained in Appendix B.
TRAFFIC
A Traffic Study was prepared by OMNI-MEANS to address the potential traffic impacts on the adjacent
public road system as a result of the proposed quarry operation. A copy of this analysis is contained in
Appendix D. The findings from the analysis indicate that no capacity or control improvements are
projected to become necessary through the year 2010 with the proposed quarry and build-out of other
approved projects within the site vicinity.
Due to the close proximity of State Route 120, and the single point of access to the site, the expected
haul route from the site on County roads consists of the Madruga Road to Guthmiller Road and the SR
120 on ramps. The option also exists for trucks to continue north on Yosemite Ave to Vierra Road in
the City of Lathrop. These haul routes are illustrated on Figure 1.
AIR RESOURCES/CLIMATOLOGY
The San Joaquin Air Pollution Control District will have authority over the quarry operation. As such,
the project may be subject to the permitting requirements of the District. Potential permits include an
Authority to Construct and Permits to Operate.
Surface Mining Application Page 3
Landmark Lathrop,L.L.C.
r
