Mr. Mahmoud Parvar
Page 3
January 26,2000
FIELD EXPLORATION AND LABORATORY TESTING
The field investigation conducted at this site consisted of drilling 4 exploratory test holes
carried to a depth of 49 feet. The approximate location of the test holes was determined in
conjunction with the owner, after taking into consideration the state mineral resource map. Test hole
locations were determined in the field by"approximating off of the parcel map provided by Triple
E Engineering. For approximate location of the test holes see the Location Map, Plate No. 1.
The test holes were drilled with a truck mounted.Deep Rock drill rig, utilizing 4.5 inch diameter,
continuous.flight auger. Sampling of the test holes above the groundwater was performed at various
depths by a California modified split spoon sampler. Blow counts (SPT) required to drive the
sampler every 6 inches were recorded and this information is presented on the Log of Boring sheets,
Plates No. 2 through 9. Addition grab.samples.were obtained from the auger flights as they were
removed from the holes for depths blow the ground water.
Samples obtained were taken to the laboratory of Neil O.Anderson&Associates,Inc.,Lodi,
California and used for various lab tests. Tests performed included gradations, sand equivalents, and
atterberg limits. A summary of the laboratory test results is presented in the following Table 2,
Laboratory Test Results.
TABLE 2, LABORATORY TEST RESULTS
Gradation Sand Aneberg Limits
Test Depth Material %passing sieve Equi-
Hole (ft.) valent Liquid Plasticity
#4 #8 416 #30 450 #100 #200 Limit Index
B-1 10 fine clean sand — 100 98 74 26 6.9 3.7 — —
B-1 IS medium to fine clean sand — 100 98 84 48 7.2 2.0 — — —
B-2 10 silty fine sand — 100 98 81 59 35 20 45 — —
B-2 20 medium to fine clean sand — 100 97 84 45 10 3.9 — — —
B-2 30 medium to fine clean sand 100 98 84 47 17 6.7 65 — —
B-3 10 very fine sand w/some silt — — — 100 91 36 11 49 — —
B-3 20 fine sandy silt& very fine — — — 100 98 81 70 — 28 5
clean sand
B-3 40 medium to fine clean sand Loo 98 85 50 19 8.4 3.9 — — —
B-3 50 medium to fine sand 100 99 94 67 21 10 7.2 77 — —
B-4 5 silt w/some sand 100 98 97 96 95 9.4 91 — 31 Z
B-4 15 medium to fine clean sand — 100 99 91 63 12, 3.1 — — —
rQE RSO
P ti
i
o
P
•SS O G
