This project will result in less than 10 additional jobs .
However , separately permitted activities subsequent to the
mining operation will result in 45 to 50 jobs . The
socioeconomic impacts of the proposed activities are expected
to be slight . They will extend the life of other mineral
reserves in the area thereby assisting in maintaining a regular
and economical supply of construction sand to the southwestern
San Joaquin County . This will result in keeping construction
costs from increasing above inflation rates in the near future.
Taxes paid on the sales value of product sands will benefit
the State and County Governments .
1 . 4 . 9 Aesthetics
The proposed permit will result in an eventual public
recreational site in the form of a golf course and aqua driving
range . The aesthetic impacts include the conversion of the
property from an orchard at the end of its productive life to
a green-belt golf course and permanent scenic lake . In the
absence of the proposed subsequent use, the site will be
returned to a productive almond orchard .
1 . 4 . 10 Public Health and Safety
The proposed project will not be detrimental to public health,
safety or welfare, nor will hazards to the general public be
created .
1 . 4 . 11 Public Services
Landmark Lathrop Group, LLC
- 7 - February 3, 2000
