2 . 0 INTRODUCTION
2 . 1 Project Summary
The proposed action to be considered in this Environmental
Review Document is the proposal by Landmark Lathrop Group, LLC
to develop quarrying activities to recover mineral reserves
located on portions of the subject property . The site
encompasses 162 acres located in the southeast quadrant of the
intersection of Interstate 5 and Highway 120. Figure 1 is a
site location map of the property shows the general location in
relation to other physical features . Figure 2 is a Site Plan
Map showing the location of the property boundary . The seven
subtracts correspond to the assigned assessors parcel numbers .
The proposed project will disturb approximately 32 acres of the
property for mining. An additional 32 acres will be used for
washing and raw product storage . A proposed subsequent use to
be addressed in a separate application will utilize the
disturbed area . In the event the proposed subsequent use does
not occur, the disturbed area will be restored to agricultural
uses .
The project will allow development of the quarrying operation
contributing to a dependable and economical source of sand and
gravel for the expanding southwestern San Joaquin County area .
2 . 2 Applicable CEQA Regulations
This section addresses compliance with the requirements of the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) , and the public
review process .
Landmark Lathrop Group, LLC
1 - February 3, 2000
