PRESENT AND PAST USE OF THE SITE <br /> Currently, the new Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel building exists on the property and it's <br /> purpose is to be a prayer chapel with no masses. Mr. Albert Amaro, our client and neighbor to <br /> the project indicated the property has been unoccupied and vacant for about 40 years(since about <br /> 1959). Several persons have owned the property but the development plans made by these <br /> owners never came to realization. <br /> IV. SURROUNDING USAGE <br /> Currently neighboring the site to the south is an existing market and parking lot. Several <br /> small businesses, a Catholic Church, and several residences are located adjacent to the site. Four <br /> neighbors were interviewed to determine the performance of their septic systems. The following <br /> is a summary of the interviews: <br /> OWNER: Albert and Mary Jane Amaro <br /> LOCATION: 26553 Sacramento Blvd.,Thornton <br /> SEPTIC SYSTEM: Yes,unknown amount of leach lines at approximately 75 feet long <br /> EXISTING WELL: None,using County water service. <br /> PERFORMANCE: No problems,septic tank is pumped every 3 to 5 years <br /> — <br /> OWNER: Gary Upton <br /> LOCATION: 2480 West Oak Street,Thornton <br /> SEPTIC SYSTEM: 2 leach lines @ 50 feet in length <br /> EXISTING WELL: Located in back of lot however it's not used,using County water service. <br /> PERFORMANCE: No problems,septic tank is pumped every 3 to 5 years <br /> OWNER: Michelle Terra <br /> LOCATION: 8760 Pine Street,Thornton <br /> SEPTIC SYSTEM: 3 leach lines @ 40 to 50 feet in length <br /> EXISTING WELL: None,using County water service <br /> PERFORMANCE: No problems,septic tank was pumped in 11/98 <br /> OWNER: Jim Hunter <br /> LOCATION: 26870 Sacramento Blvd,Thornton <br /> SEPTIC SYSTEM: 3 leach lines @ 80+-feet in length <br /> EXISTING WELL: Uses well to water garden in summer.His water service is provided by County service.A <br /> ground-water sample was collected from this well for nitrate and DBCP analysis.
