Fransen Property Page No. 2 IV. EXISTING AND PROPOSED SEPTIC TANK USAGE As indicated, there are no existing structures on the property. The owners of the property and several neighbors are in reasonably close proximity to the subject property. One of these neighbors and the owner of the subject property were able to be interviewed and this information is presented next: OWNER: Lois Fransen ADDRESS: 9458 N Oakwild Ave. LOCATION: Adjacent to the subject property, due south. AGE OF HOUSE: The house has been in the family since the 1930 's SEPTIC SYSTEM: Yes, utilizing a dual septic system with three leach lines and two dry wells. Originally, the home used one septic tank with one leach line and one dry well located on the south east side of the house. A second leach line was added to the system 15 years ago when the owners were experiencing problems. The second septic system incorporating one leach line and one well was added to the north east side of the house when an addition was made to the home that included a bathroom. The owners routinely have the system pumped out every several years to avoid backups. OWNER: Mednia ADDRESS: 9649 N Oakwild Ave. LOCATION: Across the street, sue west. AGE OF HOUSE: 30 years SEPTIC SYSTEM: Yes, utilizing a septic system with four leach lines located in the rear (west side) of the house. The Mednias have resided in the property for only 8 months, and they have experienced no problems. Shortly before the Mednias bought the home, the previous owner had the system pumped out. V. GROUND WATER DEPTH AND TESTING According to the map of "Lines of Equal Depth to Water in Wells" published spring 1994 by the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, the depth to groundwater at this location is between 85 and 95 feet. As previously indicated, there are no existing structures or wells on the property. Water from the adjacent Fransen well was sampled on April 21, 1995 and tested for the presence of nitrates ose -
