GROWTH ACCOMMODATION <br /> Location and Character of Development General Plan Policies (General Plan, <br /> Volume I, pp. IV-5,6). <br /> The following Location and Character of Development General Plan Policies <br /> apply: <br /> Policy 6: Development should occur on vacant lots within existing <br /> communities as "infill" before extending beyond the current <br /> developed areas of a community. <br /> The subject parcel is not within an urban community where <br /> "infill' would occur, but within an area planned for <br /> agriculture. There are vacant, "infill" industrial <br /> opportunities available in the Stockton area. <br /> Policy 7: Residential, commercial, and industrial development shall be <br /> shown on the General Plan Map only in communities identified <br /> in Figure IV-1, except in the following instances: <br /> 1) contiguous, industrial expansion of existing industrial areas; <br /> 2) Freeway Service areas; <br /> 3) Commercial Recreation areas; or <br /> 4) Truck Terminal areas. <br /> The proposed project does not represent a contiguous, <br /> industrial expansion of existing industrial uses, nor is the <br /> parcel located within any of the above mentioned areas. <br /> Policy 8: Outside of communities (identified in Figure IV-1), existing <br /> industrial areas (which may be expanded), Freeway Service <br /> areas, Commercial Recreation areas, and Truck Terminal <br /> areas, the General Plan Map land use designation shall be <br /> Agriculture or other open space designations. <br /> 2 <br />
