Cotta Property Page 9 of 12
Our Project Number: LES080021
March 28, 2008
3.3 Current Onsite Sources of Contamination
No above- or below-ground on-site potential or known sources of contamination were identified
from current uses of the site, except for the following:
• Agricultural chemicals continue to be applied on the property.
• Surface staining was evident under the farm equipment, parking and drive areas located
at the southwest portion of the property.
• The 350 gallon AST and 55 gallon motor oil container are not located within secondary
containment.
• Drums, debris piles, tires and a burn area are located on the property.
• Water wells and a septic system are located on the property.
• A chemical wash area is located on the property.
• Seven pole-mounted transformers are located on the property.
3.4 Past Offsite Sources of Contamination
No above- or below-ground off-site potential or known sources of contamination were identified
from past uses of the surrounding properties, except for the following:
• Surrounding properties have been used for agriculture in the past; agricultural chemicals
may have been applied to these properties.
3.5 Current Offsite Sources of Contamination
No above- or below-ground off-site potential or known sources of contamination were identified
from current uses of the surrounding properties, except for the following:
• Surrounding properties are used for agriculture; agricultural chemicals may be applied to
these properties.
4.0 EVALUATION OF IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
Diazinon, paraquat dichloride, and lambda-cyhalothrin are known RUP's which have been
applied to the property. Additional agricultural chemical residues may remain on the property.
No evidence was found, however, to indicate that the chemicals were applied inappropriately.
The potential exists for the above-ground fuel storage tank and motor oil drum to have caused
contamination of the soil because of over-filling or spillage during fueling. Additionally, the
above-ground storage tank and motor oil container are not within a secondary containment
area. Any and all leaks could potentially impact the soil.
The rusting metal located on the property may leach metals into the surface soils at the site.
The current amount of debris observed on the property does not appear to pose an
environmental threat to the property.
902 Industrial Way•Lodi,CA 95240•209.367.3701 -Fax 209.369.4228 ©2008 Neil O.Anderson&Associates,Inc.
