The way our wine club works is that shipments occur on a quarterly basis. We allow an
entire month for the member to pick up their shipment in person at the winery. This method
allows for flexibility in their schedules to be able to come out to the tasting room. On our end, it
allows us to spread out the crowds over several weekends. The people that visit Macchia are
generally 90% wine club members coming to pick up their wines, and/or to enjoy the day. The
remaining 10% are general public that happen to be enjoying wine tasting while in the region;
probably the same customers visiting numerous wineries throughout the area. We currently do
not discriminate between these new customers and our loyal wine club members in that they are
both equally free to enjoy the grounds, the music and the food, if any. The only difference is that
we pay for our wine club member's lunch as a "Thank You" for visiting us during wine club
appreciation months. I have asked for the number of attendees to limited to 50; however, that
number is less than 20 at any given time. They tend to flow through the winery both coming and
going. The exception is: two weekends a year when we release the current vintage of Macchia
wines (our Release Party Weekends). On these events, the attendance is higher and they attend
to stay longer. It is on these days that we will be parking cars in an overflow area on our
adjacent lot. Parking attendance will direct the flow and golf carts will take customers to and
from their cars. This year one of our wine club pick up days lands on the same weekend as Wine
and Chocolate which is an Industry-wide event. We haven't needed to lately, but some events in
the past, have required the rental of port-a potties this may be the case here. Otherwise, our
winery has been able to service this amount of people with little or no problems since our
inception at this location of 2007. We generally have a great report with our neighbors
informing them in advance of any event. We give them personal contact information in case any
of unexpected problems arise.
We also feel that we have a good reputation in the wine industry as a whole and look
forward to developing the reputation of Lodi as one of California's premier wine destinations.
The following are dates that we plan to use in 2015, and the number of attendees:
Dates Attendees
February 7 and 8 100s(Wine& Chocolate)
February 14 and 15 50 (Wine Club Pick up)
February 21 and 22 50 (Wine Club Pick up)
February 28 and March 1 50 (Wine Club Pick up)
May 2 and 3 300 (Release Party)
May 9 and 10 50 (Mother's Day)
May 16 and 17 50+(Zinfest Weekend)
May 23 and 24 50 (Labor Day)
August 1 and 2 50 (Wine Club Pick up)
August 8 and 9 50 (Wine Club Pick up)
August 15 and 16 50 (Wine Club Pick up)
August 22 and 23 50 (Wine Club Pick up)
November 7 and 8 50 (Wine Club Pick up)
November 14 and 15 50 (Wine Club Pick up)
November 21 and 22 300 (Release Party)
November 28 and 29 50 (Wine Club Pick up)
