Date: May 14, 2004
To: San Joaquin County Community Development Department
From: City of Stockton, Community Development Department, Planning
Division, Permit Center, 425 N. EI Dorado Street, Stockton, CA 95202,
(209) 937-8266
Subject: City Community Development Department Response to San Joaquin
County Referral — PA-0300597 (SA)
Project Description: A Site Approval application for a commercial stable for 20
horses utilizing the following existing buildings: 432 square foot office,
two 120 square foot shops, 240 square food shop, 576 square foot tack
shop and 576 square foot hay shop.
Stockton General Plan Designation: Low/Medium Density Residential
Recommendation: Denial. The continued operation of the existing stable and its
proposed expansion are inconsistent with both the City's Low/Medium-
Density Residential General Plan designation for the site and with the
planned residential development of the surrounding area. Development
proposals within this portion of the City's General Plan area should be
processed within the City following annexation and approval of a
Specific Plan application (to address traffic/circulation,
utilities/services, land uses, part, schools...).
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this application.
JAMES E. GLASER, DIRECTOR
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
by
JEG: mf
::ODMA\GRPWISE\COS.CDD.CDD_Library:38246.1
