transported via automobile to Precision Environ-Tech and released to them (see
chain of custody in Appendix). The nitrates were measured at 8.62 mg/l. The
DBCP was measured as non-detect (see Appendix for results). Based on water
testing, potential for contamination is very low.
VI. SOIL PROFILE AND PERCOLATION TESTS
One test hole was excavated to a depth of 3.5 feet in the area of the
homesite. The purpose of the test hole was to determine percolation rates in this
area. For approximate location of the test hole, see the Tentative Parcel Map in the
Appendix. The bole was prepared in accordance with County Standards. The hole
was excavated on November 4, 2003 and filled to a measuring of 30 inches, 12"
inches above the gravel with water for the 24-hour presoak period. On
November 5, 2003, at 8:00 a.m. after the presoak period the hole contained no
water, and the 4 hour test was performed in accordance with County standards.
Soils lithology in the general area of the test holes consisted of a loam. As a
shallow percolation test proved adequate for a conventional septic system, no
further soil exploration was necessary.
A copy of the Soils Classification Map prepared by the U.S. Department of
Ag Soil Conversation Service is included in the Appendices. Their map classified
the soils as Columbia fine sandy loam. Due to the classification, there should be no
I, potential problems or special engineering required on future septic systems.
One percolation test was performed in a hole with 8 inch in diameter by 42
inches deep backfilled with 2 inches of gravel. The one hole was filled with water
24 hours prior to running the test. The test hole for Parcel 1 was performed under
a 4 hour test. The last half hour of the test reading for Parcel 1 was witnessed by
a County Health Official and the test data obtained is enclosed in the Appendix.
i Parcel Number Percolation Rate
1 15.00 minutes/inch
VII. GROUNDWATER
A Groundwater test was performed on the water faucet located by the office
F building on the adjacent property (A.P.N. 091-350-04). The property address-1s,
8100 N. Podesta Lane, Linden, CA. The samples were taken fromdomestic well. "3>
The well was tested for nitrates and DBCP.
