Item No. 3
PC: 5-7-92
SA-92-25
Page 2
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This request is for a Site Approval application to expand an existing dry fertilizer sales facility by the
addition of a liquid fertilizer storage and mixing facility. The proposed expansion would be composed of
six 30,000-gallon storage tanks and one 20,000-gallon mndng tank, all of which would be located on a
concrete loading pad. The liquid fertilizers proposed for storage and mixing are ammonium
polyphosphate, tri N 32 (a mixture of urea and ammonium nitrate), urea, urea-ammonium sulfate,
potassium chloride, and ammonium nitrate.
The facility is provided access by means of a driveway on Priest Road, with material also being brought
to the site by railroad cars using tracks located on the property to the east of the project site. That
property is owned by the Union Pacific Railroad and leased by the owners of the project site. The facility
is currently served by the following on-site services: water supply by a private well, sewage disposal by
a septic system, and storm drainage by an existing storm retention pond. The proposed expansion will
not affect those services.
