Tony and Jodie Agueda
9536 S. Priest Road
French Camp, CA 95231
August 16,2012
Ms. Corinne E. King
San Joaquin County
Community Development Department
1810 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95205
Dear Ms. King:
Re: Application Number: PA-1200118 (UP)
This letter is to advise you of our conflict and concerns for the commercial meditation
center proposed to be placed on the property located at 9698 S. Priest Road. We feel
the business/meditation center does not fit in our neighborhood. Let me say that again,
our neighborhood, which the General Plan designation is R/L (Low Density
Residential).
This is an area where people live, most for generations, raise their families and retire
here. There is no 80 foot tower on our street presently that would indicate our street is
anything other than a residential neighborhood. The addition of an 80 foot commercial
tower in our quiet residential neighborhood would be an eyesore that would drastically
stand out and lower our property values even lower than this recessional period has
already lowered them.
It is also proposed that there be a 1500 sq. ft. restroom be built on this property. Here is
a perfect example of how and why this "center" does not belong on S. Priest Road. The
entire square footage of our home is less than the size of their commercial size restroom
will be. There are neighbors on this street who live in homes the same size as ours and
smaller, and of course some larger, yet NONE with a 1500 square foot bathroom; that is
a commercial bathroom, not a residential one. That their bathroom alone will be larger
than most of the homes on this street is outrageous and completely demonstrates the
fact that this proposal is for a COMMERCIAL inclusion to this property, not a
residential improvement to said property. It is our hope Ms. King, that you along with
Community Development can stop such a monstrosity from being built on a quiet
