Equipment with uncontrolled engines may be
repowered with an emissionized engine that meets current standards. Tier 1, Tier Il, and
Tier III engines have significantly less NOx and PM emissions compared to uncontrolled
engines. For more information regarding alternative fuels and equipment retrofits, visit
the California Air Resources Board (CARE) website at www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/ diesel.htm.
District staff is available to meet with you and/or the applicant to further discuss the
regulatory requirements that are associated with this project.
