I
August 8, 2006
i NOA Project Number: E06087A
?17 4.0 GROUND WATER INFORMATION
4.1 Ground Water Depth and Gradient
The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (1998 and 1999) ground
water depth and elevation maps were reviewed to determine the ground water levels near the Site.
i The Fall 1998 and Spring 1999 maps are the most current official maps available from the county. .
According to these maps (Plates 3-6),ground water lies between 60 and 70 feet below ground
C `` surface in the vicinity of the Site. The groundwater appears to flow to the east through the
2'iJ immediate vicinity of the Site.
No ground water was encountered by the staff of Neil O. Anderson&Associates, Inc. during the
drilling of the percolation test holes to a depth of 25 feet on July 26, 2006.
4.2 Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues
Identifying potential ground-water contamination sources was not part of the scope of work for the
soil suitability study.
Potential ground-water contamination can occur from a number of sources which often include
leaky underground storage tanks, agricultural activities, dairies, septic systems, and storm water (
infiltration. Any past agricultural activities and the present use of septic systems in the area should
i be considered potential ground-water contamination sources.
r 4.3 Water Sample: Location
Two well permits were found for the subject property address during file review at EHD on July 25,
2006. One permit was issued to William Hodges on August 7, 1982 and is for the destruction of an
old=omesti d—
c- ell at 11130 North Highway 99.The second permit is for the installation of anew
ell a 11130 North Highway 99, issued to Walter Martin on September 30, 1976.
awings on both well permits and septic permits,it appears as though the old well
was destructed in order to install the new septic system. One well appears to exist on the Site.
A water sample was taken from a faucet near the well on July 24, 2006 by Mrs. Nancy R. Kramer.
(Plate 1). L`
# _t
4.4 Water Sample Constituents
The water sample was analyzed for nitrate and DBCP. The results of this water test are forthcoming.
