The samples were then transported on ice and remained under chain of custody to
t FGL Environmental, Stockton.
F_} 4.6 Chain of Custody
i The Chain of Custody document has been included in the appendix of this report. G
5.0 SOIL PROFILE AND GEOLOGIC INFORMATION
The Site is depicted on the USGS Geologic Map of the San Francisco-San Jose Quadrangle (1991) as within
i the Quaternary Modesto Formation (Plate 7). These map units represent arkosic alluvium forming
j Mokelumne River terraces, channel ridges and alluvial fans.
The surface and near surface soils located at Site are reported by the San Joaquin County Soil Survey to
+ be composed of Jacktone Clay, 0 to 2 percent slopes late 7 SDA 1992 . Table 3 presents some
selected properties of these soils:
FTable 3.
Selected Soil Properties of the Surrounding Area
R
San oa uin Coun Soil Surve Re ort.
Soil Name Depth(in) Unified Soil Salinity Soil Septic tank
and Map Classification mmhos/cm Reaction absorption
F4
Symbol pH fields
i
j Jacktone 0-22:Clay. Three borings were drilled to a depth of approximately 3
feet, one to a depth of 5.4 feet and two to a depth of around 25 feet. The soil borings were used :
later for percolation test holes;the locations of the borings are indicated in Plate 1.
5.2 Soil Boring Dimensions
t
The soil borings were approximately 3 feet, 5.4 feet and 25 feet deep, as noted above, and were four (57,
F
i
P
6
M
