_ I. INTRODUCTION
Dillon & Murphy was retained by Derivi Castillanos Architects to perform a Soils
Suitability Study for the Catholic Diocese of Stockton, Lodi Church property located at 13000
N. Highway 99, Lodi, CA. The subject parcel number is APN 061-07-02. The purpose of
the study is to determine the suitability of the property for septic tank usage as required by the
County. The study was performed according to the requirements of Section 10100 of San
Joaquin County Development Code.
II. PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
The property is currently zoned AG-40. The Church property consists of a 8.99 acre
parcel (see appendix for map).
111. PRESENT AND PAST USE OF THE SITE
Presently, the parcel is a bare field. It historically has been used as a nursery.
IV. GROUND WATER AND DEPTH TESTING
According to the map of "Lines of Equal Depth of Water in Wells" published Fall,
1990, by the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conversation District, the depth to
groundwater at this location is approximately 75 feet.
V. SOIL PROFILE AND PERCOLATION TESTS
One test hole was excavated to a depth of 3.0 feet in the area of the Church's proposed
leach field. The purpose of the test hole was to determine the percolation rate in this area.
For approximate location of the test hole, see the Appendix. The hole was prepared in
accordance with County Standards.
Generally the surface soils consisted of a sandy loam. As shallow percolation tests
proved adequate for conventional septic systems, no further soils exploration was necessary.
One percolation test was performed in a hole 9 inches in diameter by 36 inches deep
backfilled with 1 inch of gravel. The one hole was filled with water 24 hours prior to running
the test. The last half hour of the test reading was witnessed by a County Health Official.
Parcel Number Percolation Rate
1 6 inches/hr
-1-
