LIVE OAK BED ENVIRONMENTAL
Surface& Subsurface Contamination Report- The Arbor Mobile Nome Park, Acampo
June 80, 2009
'+ WCA 2
or the one that was destroyed nn November 2008. Portions of this monitoring report
have been included in Appendix 4.
7.0 GOVERNMENT AGENCY RESEARCH
17.1 EPA Databases
The California Environmental Protection. Agency (EPA) manages contaminated sites
through two sub-agencies: the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) and the
Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC). The SWRCB's GeoTracker database
includes underground storage tank (UST) sites, leaking underground storage tank
(LUST) sites, cleanup program sites, and land disposal sites. DTSC's EnviroStor
database includes Federal Superfund sites, State response sites, voluntary cleanup sites,
school cleanup sites, corrective action sites, and permitted hazardous waste facilities.
LOGE searched both databases on June 8, 2009 for any listed sites within one-quarter
mile of the Site. The subject Site was not listed on either database. Surrounding
addresses were identified based on review of parcel information available through the
San Joaquin County District Viewer. No facilities were identified on the EnviroStor
database. The following three facilities were identified on the GeoTracker database
within one-quarter mile of the Site:
• Les Calkins Trucking - 19501 N. Highway 99. This facility is located less than
one-eighth of a mile west of the subject Site, across Highway 99. This is a leaking
underground storage tank case where diesel impacted the drinking water
aquifer. The EHD is listed as the lead agency. According to records on file at the
EHD, reviewed June 18, 2009, the EHD closed the case in 1997 with "no further
action" required.
• Western Oil Spreading - 19256 N. Highway 99. This facility is located
approximately one-eighth of a mile south of the subject Site. Acording to the
most recent quarterly monitoring report6 on file with GeoTracker, no
constituents of concern (motor oil, diesel, gasoline, and BTEX) were detected in
the monitoring well (MW-7) closest to the Site during the March 2009 sampling
event. However, records reviewed at the EHD indicate that low levels (64 [ig/L)
of total extractable hydrocarbons were detected in a hydropunch sample from a
similar area in 2005.
• Victor Meats - 18846 N. Highway 99. This facility is located one-quarter mile
south of the subject Site. Two cases exist for this facility, a leaking underground
storage tank case and a cleanup program case. According to records on file at.the
EHD, the underground storage tank case was closed in 2005 with "no further
action" required; the Regional Water Board concurred. The open cleanup
program case appears to be more complicated, involving salt and possibly other
types of contamination in soil and groundwater. The EHD is listed as the lead
agency for this case. Records on file at the EHD indicated that area wells,
including the supply well for The Arbor, had been surveyed for salt
8
